With my handcrafted Miniature Theatres, Shadowboxes and Diorama’s holding dreamlike tales and poems within them, I revisit the imaginative realm of childhood.
Memories of a dusty puppetry theatre with life size marionettes I once visited with my grandmother and of spending days cutting characters from card for the intricate shadow puppet theatre I was gifted by a family friend from Java, are at the root of my desire to make theatres; worlds within worlds in which to get lost for a moment
