It’s an honour to be once again part of the Bewitchings IX Group Show,
hosted by Stranger Factory Gallery in Albuquerque NM
Loosely inspired by Halloween and all things magical and creepy,
I created five pieces for this show which I like to share with you here.
All pieces are available now through the gallery itself,
where they will be on display until October 27th. They are also available through their website
GWYNN – mixed media art doll
Gwynn is made with cloth and clay, antique textiles and mohair for her wig.
She carries a little pink crescent moon.
Is she is sleeping, dreaming, slumbering or ghosting?
Whatever it is, she does it beautifully, rosy cheeked and with grace
AGNES – mixed media art doll
Agnes is a doll made with clay and cloth and mohair for her wig
Her dress is made with an antique baptism dress
From her chest sprouts a flower like growth, with a sparkling amethyst at its center.
Glass crystals and beads hang heavy from her ghostly white dress
BESSIE – mixed media art doll
Bessie is my favourite doll,
there is something in her expression that caught me off guard almost,
as if a soul had moved into her and was looking straight back at me
She is a clay and cloth doll with mohair wig.
Her dress is made with beautiful heavy vintage textiles covered in glass beads.
Silk roses hang in beaded strings from her arms and a pigeon rests on her shoulder
Bessie is not from this world, she is just visiting from someplace else
THE OLD DRESSMAKER – textile art wall hanging
This is a textile wall hanging doll,
she is the old witch who spend her life sewing ghostly dresses for the departed souls
WOLF MAIDEN – textile art wall hanging
Wolf Maiden is half wolf half woman,
and guardian of the spirits that rest deep inside the forest ground.
She is made with cloth and vintage textiles, she is hand painted and can be displayed on the wall
Please see the gallery website for availability
